The CFDs on Deribit comprise of Futures and Options.
What are Futures and Options?
Futures: ‘Futures are an agreement to buy or sell an asset on a specific future date at a specific price.’
Options: ‘Options are contracts which give the buyer the right, but not the obligation, to buy or sell an underlying asset or instrument at a specified strike price prior to or on a specified date, depending on the form of the option.’
Simply speaking, Deribit allows you to trade Bitcoin contracts without actually buying real Bitcoin on the platform, allowing users to leverage their capital.
Deribit is purely funded by Bitcoin, you cannot deposit ‘Fiat’ (USD/EUR/GBP) on the platform, you can only deposit Bitcoin to trade.
